Signage stars recognised at annual industry awards

December 03, 2018

Global signage and visual communications specialists, FASTSIGNS, held their annual UK Convention, Supplier Showcase and Awards Ceremony, celebrating the leading lights of their UK franchise network.

Held on Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd November at the stunning Heythrop Park Resort in Oxford, the event was attended by the FASTSIGNS’ global CEO Catherine Monson, who flew in from the United States especially for the event. The FASTSIGNS UK convention and awards ceremony provides the UK franchise network with the opportunity to undertake peer to peer learning, meet new and key suppliers and rewards the year’s successes.

The highlight of the two-day session is the glittering awards evening, which featured 10 competitive awards including Project of the Year, Employee of the Year, Sales Achievement of the Year and the highly coveted, Franchisee of the Year award, scooped, this year, by joint owner of FASTSIGNS Leeds, Andy Simpson. Andy received this award because he demonstrates the FASTSIGNS franchise model to the letter, he is an ambassador for the network, supports the internal mentoring programme and has a keen attention to detail that consistently delights his customers and employee networks.

This year’s main award winners were:

● FASTSIGNS Milton Keynes – Employee of the Year (Iona Lohan)
● FASTSIGNS Manchester – Project of the Year and Joint Sales Improvement of the Year
● FASTSIGNS Leeds – Sales Achievement of the Year, Franchisee of the Year and Joint CMF Board Member of the Year (both Andy Simpson) and Sales Person with Highest Revenue (Rebecca Holliday)
● FASTSIGNS Hammersmith – Comprehensive Customer Solutions of the Year
● FASTSIGNS Kingston – Joint CMF Board Member of the Year (Mark Phelps) and Sales Person Newcomer of the Year (Matthew King)
● FASTSIGNS Guildford – Joint Sales Improvement of the Year

In addition to recognising excellence within the FASTSIGNS network, the company also reinforces its supplier relationships with the Supplier of the Year award, voted for by its franchisees. This year the award was presented to leading substrate manufacturer, Metamark because of their premium product range, exceptional customer service and overall support of the FASTSIGNS UK network.

The convention also hosted a Supplier Showcase. 27 suppliers to the FASTSIGNS UK network exhibited their produces and services, including digital signage, LED solutions, printing hardware and substrate products. The showcase provides franchisees with the opportunity to obtain in depth knowledge of supplier offerings, which they can pass on to their customers through exceptional signage solutions.

During the event, Catherine Monson, who has enjoyed a career spanning over 25 years in the signage and franchising industry and is a board member of the International Franchise Association (IFA), delivered keynote speeches to both the franchisee and outside sales professionals within the network. Catherine’s key messages aimed to motivate the cohort members, share her insights for the signage sector and expected industry trends for the coming year.

Commenting on this year’s convention, Catherine said:

“It’s always fantastic to come to back to the UK to meet with all our franchisees here and celebrate in their successes. This year has been a great year for the network. We’ve welcomed some exciting new additions to the FASTSIGNS family and have seen some exceptional work from our existing franchises.”

“During my visit this year, I also got the opportunity to visit a number of our centres in person and meet with the franchisees teams that have been flying the FASTSIGNS flag in their respective cities and towns. It really is a fantastic time for FASTSIGNS UK and I look forward to guiding the network to even more successes in the coming year.”

John Davies, UK managing director for FASTSIGNS added:

“We’re thrilled to have been able to welcome Catherine back to the UK and to put on such a positive event. The annual convention is an important part of the FASTSIGNS UK calendar each year. This event is the perfect platform to celebrate the exceptional work our franchises produce during the year, recognises their commitment to delivering outstanding levels of customer service and provides a learning opportunity. A massive congratulations to all this year’s winners and indeed high praise for each and every one of our franchises for a really successful year.”

The UK FASTSIGNS network currently comprises 21 franchises across the country, with plans in place for further expansion in the coming months.
